What does Unstale actually do?

It takes a published WordPress post that has gone stale, researches the topic on the live web, fact-checks the figures and dates in it, rewrites it at the level you choose, adds internal links and metas, and republishes it without changing the URL. You approve every change from a side-by-side diff first.

Is the free plugin actually free, or is it a trial?

It is free and it runs real AI. The Minimal and Balanced levels, live web research, fact-checking, the review queue, SEO-safe republishing and the content health screen with its 50-post batches are all in the free plugin on wordpress.org. Unstale Pro adds the Strong and Maximal levels, scheduled automation, and bulk refresh straight from the Posts list at any level, 100 at a time.

Does it work with Elementor, my SEO plugin and my cache plugin?

Yes. Pages built with Elementor, Divi or SeedProd are refreshed inside the data the builder already holds, so only the text changes and the layout never moves. Meta titles and descriptions are written into Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress when one of them is active, and Unstale stops emitting its own structured data so a post never carries two Article schemas. Once published, the refreshed post is purged through WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache, WP Fastest Cache or SG Optimizer, one post at a time and never a full flush. Why is there no credit system?

Because you pay the AI provider directly with your own key. Credits exist so a vendor can resell you tokens at a markup; Unstale sells a licence instead, so no plan meters how many articles you refresh.

Does my content go through your servers?

No. Your WordPress talks to the AI provider you connected, directly. The only request to unstale.ai is the public model catalogue, which carries no content and no personal data. Details in the docs.
